A fantastic early and very romantic 19th century antique pendant in the form of a cross set with 6 large faceted rock crystal stones with the most wonderful inscription to the reverse which reads " Alice Finch 5 May 1905 in grateful recognition of 20 years faithful service from the Brothers & Sisters of Olga Von Glehn "
A bit of research shows that Olga Von Glehn was from the Von Glehn family - Father Robert Wilhelm Von Glehn and amongst 12 brothers and sisters was louise Creighton formerly Louise Hume Von Glehn who was an advocate of women's rights and the suffragette movement. Please see attached info on the family and also the 1851 census. 
 
I cannot find information on Alice Finch but will investigate further. 
The silver is not marked but has been professionally assay tested as no less than sterling silver, three of the rock crystal stones are damaged but in no way does this detract from a great piece of history.
